Below is a list of the performances and activities scheduled for Flower Mart 2023
Note: Performance times are subject to change. In the event of inclement weather, all performances will take place inside the Cathedral.

Free entertainment occurs on both Friday and Saturday on the Pinnacle Stage – in front of the Cathedral’s main entrance and in the Cathedral nave.
FRIDAY, MAY 5, 2023
10:00 a.m. Opening Ceremony, Washington National Cathedral Nave. STA CBA Chorus performs at Opening Ceremony.
11:00 a.m. NCS/STA Upper School Chorale & Madrigal Singers, Cathedral’s west steps

NCS/STA Orchestra Concert
Instrumental musicians from St. Albans and National Cathedral School join together to play in concert – Cathedral’s High Altar.

NCS/STA Dance Performance
The NCS/STA Dance Program is the largest such independent-school offering in the Washington area. More than 100 students participate in a variety of disciplines – Cathedral’s West Steps.

Maryland Lyric Opera is a regional opera company created “for musicians, by musicians.” MDLO combines a diverse performance schedule of fully staged grand opera, concert opera, and intimate recitals featuring acclaimed soloists with a rigorous training program that fosters the careers of the next generation of opera stars.

Flamenco is bound up with the history of Andalucía, where over the centuries Europe has mingled with Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.

Children’s Chorus of Washington
CCW made its debut at The Kennedy Center in November 1996. Since then, CCW has distinguished itself as one of our country’s premier youth choruses.

Tom Carroll and the Silver Strings, a Chesapeake Bay area folk, bluegrass, blues, traditional, and contemporary music string band.

Taal Academy of Dance is an Indian dance company that is based in Washington, DC.

Capitol City Strings is a Suzuki-based violin studio committed to developing excellence in the performing arts among the rising generation of the Greater Washington area.

Our dancers have danced to the accompaniment of world renowned Irish musicians at Strathmore, Kennedy Center, Wolftrap, the Irish Embassy and The White House.

St. James Episcopal School Choir
Our students are engaged in a variety of musical activities, from singing in the Chapel Choir and a cappella groups to instrumental chamber ensembles and student-organized bands.

Odissi is one of the oldest dance forms – originating from the Hindu temples of Orissa in India.

Sticks+Bars Youth Marimba Ensemble
We are DC’s first and only African style marimba band for students must be in grades 5-12. We play the lively music of Zimbabwe and Southern Africa, and beyond.

Celebrating Mexican Culture with Ballet FOLKLÓRICO in Washington, D.C. We are a non-profit dance company that showcases Mexico’s rich cultural diversity through dance performances.

With a mission to transform lives and communities through dance, CityDance works towards creating a world where everyone has access to the benefits of an arts education and where world-class dance is available to all.
