At Washington National Cathedral
On the First Friday and Saturday of May
Since 1939, All Hallows Guild has held Flower Mart as a benefit for the Cathedral’s gardens and grounds. Join us for two days of fun and activities for the entire family.
Thank You to all of our Volunteers and Visitors
There's something for everyone at Flower Mart
Ride our Antique Carousel
All Hallows Guild’s antique carousel is a favorite of the young and young at heart. It dates from around 1890, and is one of only two surviving carousels manufactured by the U.S. Merry-Go-Round Corporation. The carousel was purchased by the Guild in 1963 and we continue to restore and refurbish this historic treasure.
Explore our Booths
Purchase spring plants for your garden, find treasures in our White Elephant Tent, and shop for a wide array of merchandise at over 70 boutique booths. Flower Mart is the perfect place to find gifts for Mothers Day, graduations, and something special just for you! Be sure to stop into our Herb Cottage Gifts tent for our signature home and garden items and a special selection of "Pollinator Power" merchandise.
This year we are expanding our Flower District on the Cathedral's front lawn. In addition to excellent array of garden plants, you will find herbs, bonsai, orchids, floral arrangements and cut blooms. We will have a variety of interesting containers in which to display your plants. The talented and knowledgeable Cathedral horticulture staff will be on hand to answer your gardening questions and will be conducting information sessions during Flower Mart.
International Floral Display
Since 2006, Washington Embassies and their floral designers will have installed gorgeous displays that highlight each country’s natural and cultural heritage in the nave of the National Cathedral. This year we are pleased to have Japan, Luxembourg, Panama, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Taiwan, Australia, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Korea, Armenia, and the United States represented.
The floral display is open throughout Flower Mart. Bring your camera. Admission is FREE.
Throughout both days of Flower Mart, entertainers perform on the main stage in front of the Cathedral (or inside in the event of rain). We will present a wide-ranging array of talented singers, dancers, musicians, and choral groups. The popular Washington Revels will again ring in May and close out Flower Mart on Saturday.
The Cathedral Tower Climb
Get a bird’s eye view of DC and see the Cathedral’s gargoyles up-close! Guided Tower Climbs will be offered during Flower Mart on Saturday, May 4th. The tour begins at the Cathedral’s crypt level and participants climb over 300 steps. Climbers must be a minimum 48 inches tall in order to participate. Tower climb tickets are non-refundable.
Enjoy Great Food
Flower Mart has everything from barbecue and smoothies to funnel cakes and lobster rolls. The Episcopal Church Women have sponsored a booth for many years with their array of tempting homemade baked goods – including their famous shortbread!
Activities for Children
In addition to our carousel, Flower Mart has an entire Children’s Area with a huge array of games and carnival rides. You can also take a break inside the Cathedral’s Bethlehem Chapel, where our Master Puppeteers will present their delightful puppet show. Tickets for the rides, games, and the puppet show can be purchased at the ticket booth in the Children’s Area.
Taste in the Tower
Take a break during Flower Mart to enjoy a seated luncheon in the St. Paul Room and Folger Court on the seventh floor of the Cathedral’s South Tower.
